Summary:
Mysterious doors with lizard-head knobs. Talking stone statues. A crazy girl with a hatchet. Yes, Liv's dreams have been pretty weird lately. Especially the one where she's in a graveyard at night, watching four boys conduct dark magic rituals.

The strangest part is that Liv recognizes the boys in her dream. They're classmates from her new school in London, the school where she's starting over because her mom has moved them to a new country (again). But what's really scaring Liv is that the dream boys seem to know things about her in real life, things they couldn't possibly know--unless they actually are in her dreams? Luckily, Liv never could resist a good mystery, and all four of those boys are pretty cute....

My Thoughts:
After spending the summer in Switzerland with their father, Liv and her younger sister Mia are moving to London to live with their mother, an English professor who recently accepted a teaching position at the University of Oxford. Liv and Mia couldn't be more excited at the prospect of finally settling in a home they call their own. Six moves in eight years—the Silver sisters have become quite adept saying goodbye to friends and keeping their personal possessions to a minimum. What they don't anticipate is their mother being in a serious relationship with widower Ernest Spencer and meeting his two teenage children, Grayson and Florence.

But Liv has more on her mind than her absentminded mother changing all their plans of living in the quaint English countryside in favour of remaining in the city. Liv's dreams have become even stranger than normal since arriving in London. She dreams of an endless corridor filled with doors, a talking stone statue, and even more curiously, a cemetery where the four most popular boys at her new private school—including Grayson—conduct a dark magical ritual during the dead of night. These dreams are so vivid and realistic, and never seem to fade from memory when Liv wakes up, but they're still just dreams, right?

Yet Grayson and his friends seem to know more about Liv than they really should, things that only occurred in her dreams. When Grayson tries to warn Liv to stay away from his friends, it makes her all the more determined to discover what secrets they're hiding. After all, Liv has always loved a good mystery... But as she'll soon learn, Grayson and his friends have been caught up in something much more menacing and dangerous than she could've ever imagined.

Dream a Little Dream was my first time reading a book by Kerstin Gier and I absolutely enjoyed it! Liv's narration is filled with humour and a tendency to be overly dramatic, which immediately endeared herself to me. Seriously, I could not stop giggling and smiling! Liv and her sister Mia have just the cutest sibling relationship, and Liv's imagination and endless curiosity were delightfully charming. I had kind of assumed that Dream a Little Dream would have a darker tone because of its cover, but it was actually a fun and refreshing YA paranormal read. Kerstin Gier's Dream a Little Dream felt very much like an introduction to the Silver Trilogy, and I'm definitely excited to see what's in store next for Liv in book two!
